Reiki is a tool that can lend to an increased spiritual connection, openness, and sensitivity with an overall sense of well-being.


“Ki is the life-force energy which flows through every living thing. Rei is translated as the ‘wisdom and knowledge of all the Universe’ or ‘atmosphere of the Divine.’  It means the Higher Intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the Universe; the wisdom that comes from God (or the Source, the Creator, the Universe of All That Is), which is all knowing, and which understands the need for and the cause of all problems and difficulties, and how to heal them.” (Reiki for Life by Penelope Quest)

There are five Reiki principles that Dr. Usui, the founder of Reiki, thought we should live by in order to have health and happiness in our everyday lives.

  1. ‍Do not get angry
  2. ‍Do not worry
  3. ‍Show appreciation
  4. Work hard (on yourself)
  5. Be kind to others

Reiki is not religious, but does share a similarity with Jesus’ hands-on healing work.  It is a tool that can lend to an increased spiritual connection, openness, and sensitivity.  Reiki is a great tool to have just for yourself or to share with family and friends; it is a real gift you can share with others.  Reiki has certainly played a role in opening my mind and heart over the years.

Reiki Sessions

A typical Reiki session consists of the client lying down on a massage table fully clothed. Specific hand-holds on the body are then used to transfer Reiki to the client. Sometimes sensations of heat or coolness are experienced while receiving Reiki. People have also reported seeing specific colors and deep feelings of relaxation, and/or possibly having emotions rise to the surface. People usually feel very relaxed during and after a session. One treatment generally does not solve chronic issues--just like going to the gym one time does not get rid of the 10 pounds you want to lose—but it is always beneficial. Regular Reiki treatments are the most beneficial when working with ongoing problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, and other mild to severe health issues. Sessions are best scheduled for 75 or 90 minutes, but can be done in an hour if you feel you have financial constraints.

Trainings & Classes

Attune yourself to the infinite supply and benefits of Reiki by attending training sessions. As a Master Teacher, I offer training in Reiki levels I, II, and III. Upon finishing class, students can perform Reiki on themselves and others. Classes are generally held upon request, so contact me for more information.
